Weekend gaming
Some weekends, things just fall spontaneously into place. I know there were some intense games of Power Grid played by the League of Extraordinary Gamers these past few days. I also know that I didn’t think I was going to get much gaming in at all this weekend, as the holiday madness is descending upon us all. But, then, on Saturday I got to just enjoy the afternoon and play some fine games.
Doug and I played the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game, a couple games of Battlelore, and Leonardo Da Vinci. I will say about the WoW TCG that if you like Magic: The Gathering, you will like this game, and find it fairly familiar. For an in depth report on Battlelore, and to encourage yourself to pick up a copy, check out this link - http://www.boardgamegeek.com/thread/139263
Then on Sunday, our family got together with some of our wonderful neighbours and played some more games. I showed the neighbours Hey, That’s My Fish, Tsuro, No Thanks, Railroad Tycoon, Basari, and Ingenious. Quite an impressive list, and every game was very much enjoyed by all who participated. Every game in that list minus Railroad Tycoon is a great game for someone to try who is looking for a quick, light-hearted and fun game experience.
Thanks for playing to all my opponents from the weekend.
More ways to win!
The time has come to reveal the latest development in the iCon line of fun.
Starting this December, iCon and Excalibur Games are forging an alliance to bring you, gentle gamers, the League of Extraordinary Gamers. Check out the links below for details on this great new group and find out how you can use this opportunity to try out a lot more games, and be rewarded for playing.

Finished? Pretty neat, isn’t it? Now, as if we are not providing you enough juicy, gaming-related goodness, iCon is also going to sponsor a contest to kick off this fabulous league. I feel that the logo design is nice, but could be better, so I’d like to propose a logo design contest. Please have all entries to me at jdwheels52@hotmail.com before Dec 31st of 2006. Our unbiased panelist of judges will peruse all entries, and the winner will receive a shiny new boardgame. The title is going to remain secret for this week. Just one more thing to anticipate.
Please visit our forums or email me with any questions, comments, & concerns.
I hope you are as excited as I am.
Thanks for playing.
